The Franchising Process

  1. Franchise Interview and Assessment

We start with a blank sheet of paper. Our franchise recruiters will gather information about you, including your background and goals, and help determine whether business ownership is a fit. Business ownership is not for everyone. This initial evaluation helps us quickly determine suitability for beginning life as an entrepreneur.

  2. Franchise Business Model

Your franchise recruiter will schedule a confidential consultation to develop a personalized model for use in evaluating franchise opportunities. This will focus on pinpointing those attributes you feel are most important while giving you the highest chance of success in a given franchise.

  3. Franchise Selection

Our company only works with the top franchise concepts across all industries, from brick-and-mortar to home-based and single-unit to master franchise. Your franchise recruiter will match you with three of the top franchises based on the franchise suitability model we have built off your interview and assessment.

  4. Franchise Investigative Process

    • Talk to the franchisor to learn about their business model, systems and support.
    • Talk to franchisees to validate what you learned from the franchisor.
    • Review the Franchisor Disclosure Document (FDD).
    • Meet with the franchisor on “Discovery Day.”
  5. Franchisor’s Steps

Selection usually involves a few steps on the part of the franchisor:

    • Talk to you the prospective franchisee.
    • Collect and review application information.
    • Complete a background check including credit and references
    • Interview you in person or over the phone
    • Some of the best franchisors will even do a field visit to meet with you in your market.

Discovery Basics

Here are a few things to keep in mind during the due diligence process:

  1. Be Open

Often times the business you were least interested in  upon closer inspection prove to be the best opportunity.
  2. Best Foot Forward

The better franchises tend to be extremely selective so make sure you are interacting with the franchisor and franchisees as though you were on a job interview.
  3. No Strings

This service is provided at no cost to you. At any point you can drop out of the process . . . or be dropped from the process by the franchisor.
  4. Have Fun

Discovering a new path forward is a lot of fun. Typically this process should prove to be a great learning experience and well worth your time regardless of whether you end up owning a business.
  5. Effort Matters

Like most experiences in life you will get more out of this if you put more into it. Be engaged and deliberate in your exploration.
